Here’s a scary number: 70 million. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that’s the number of Americans who have high blood pressure, also called hypertension. Roughly 1 in every 3 people has it. Here is another frightening number: 360,000. That’s the number of deaths high blood pressure contributed to in 2013.
